Sustainable Essentials Webinar - Lobbying for Pollution Prevention with ASBC - CO2 Reduction and Safer Chemicals

Join us for a discussion crucial to our work now that the elections are over. American Sustainable Business Council Co-Founder and VP for Policy, Richard Eidlin, will discuss the many ways in which climate change poses fundamental risks to a furniture business's success. More frequent extreme weather, higher electricity prices and supply chain disruptions will likely have an adverse impact. The good news, however, is that policymakers at both the federal and state level are taking action, with efforts underway to put a price on carbon as well as other important policy initiatives to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels.  Also joining the discussion, Bryan McGannon, policy director of the American Sustainable Business Council, will talk through the prospects for legislative action restricting harmful flame retardants and the impact on TSCA implementation by the new Administration.  Following the election, a new Congress and a new Administration will put their stamp on chemical reform policy, as well as many other forms of pollution prevention.  Learn from the experts what we need to be discussing with our legislators now.

Content also includes a synopsis of GREENleaders, the industry's first certified sustainability training course. This webinar is intended to give participants useful information you can begin using in your business immediately as well as answer any questions you may have about getting the most out of SFC membership.
