#GetYourGreenOn - Interior Design Award Competition
It is time to ....
The Sustainable Furnishings Council is pleased to announce the second annual interior design awards, #GetYourGreenOn. This competition honors interior designers who specify sustainable and healthful home furnishings for their clients’ residences.
Both SFC-member and non-member interior designers and firms are eligible to enter the competition; residential interior design projects completed between April 1, 2016, and March 31, 2017, qualify. Entries must feature at least one product from an SFC-member manufacturer or supplier.
New in 2017: #GetYourGreenOn entrants are asked to pledge their commitment to healthy environments both inside and outside the home by taking "The Pledge to ASK, 'What’s it made of?' "
"The Pledge to ASK" is the first step in an initiative that encourages transparency in our supply chains, and stimulates innovation to eliminate the hazardous substances most commonly found in home furnishings, especially flame-retardant chemicals, fluorinated stain treatments, antimicrobials, vinyl, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) including formaldehyde.
Entrants will be asked to detail their efforts to reduce hazardous chemicals in recent residential interior design projects, including their use of the Supply Chain Questionnaire, which is provided by SFC as a part of The "What's it made of?" Initiative.
#GetYourGreenOn winners and finalists (up to 12 total in six categories) will be announced during Fall 2017.
The deadline for entries is Friday, September 1 ... tell us “What’s It Made Of?” and #GetYourGreenOn today!
