The SFC Waste Reduction Working Group focuses on waste goals, waste inventory, waste reduction, and waste diversion. Peer-to-peer learning will help us all establish waste generation inventory, zero-waste commitment, and percentage of waste reduced & diverted (water to energy). In our initial meeting we will define terms, give concrete examples of waste reduction, and share ideas about how we can put the practices in place in our businesses.

About SFC Working Groups:

Participation in Working Groups is our newest SFC Member benefit! In response to our recent SFC member survey we know you are prioritizing corporate sustainability, and that you want help not only from SFC staff, but also from your peers. Sustainability is complex, and furnishings supply chains are also complex. SFC's new Working Groups will provide a forum for discussion and for sharing practical advice. The Working Group topics will focus on 6 different and often interrelated aspects of sustainability:

reducing carbon emissions
maintaining health and wellness
ensuring social equity
reducing waste
managing water
incorporating circularity

The Working Group meetings are every Wednesday at 3pm eastern, via GoToMeeting, and these topics rotate approximately every 6 weeks. Members are invited to participate in all discussions. To sign up, click the link below:
