Best Practice Achievements
2017: We are working on changing out all lights to LED. We have started in the warehouse and plan to continue on to the offices.
2017: We recently partnered with a few of our tanneries to produce new sustainable Olive Tanned leather using the WetGreen Olivenleder technology. We plan to continue to add to the Olive Green portfolio in promoting more sustainable leather manufacturing.
2020: We continue to build upon our Olive Green portfolio. Our 4 lines have each received and upheld a Red List Free Declare Label certification since 2017. This is the most stringent transparency certification to date.
We are part of the Living Product 50 group of manufacturers who are dedicated to transparency and creating an expanded awareness and practice of sustainable and regenerative methods of manufacturing and product specification within the industry.
We are in the process of gathering clean air certifications on multiple products regarding emissions and ingredient transparency for all products.
We continue to work with our tannery partners to build upon their outstanding environmental efforts including their reduced energy and water footprints, sustainable practices and meeting or exceeding REACH regulations.
We continue to encourage our tanneries to be part of the LWG - Leather Working Group which is an organization dedicated to improving Environmental Stewardship within the Leather industry.
We are looking into our packaging practices to identify where we can make changes to be more sustainable.
We are discussing an action plan for sample return or reuse for our clients.
2017: We intend to educate internally and externally on the sustainability initiatives of our tannery partners and in the new Olive Green tanning technology.
2020: We have joined Leather Naturally - a non-profit organization which focuses on leather education. We are working with them to expand upon the education provided to the industry and end users regarding leather and sustainability.
We will expand our education efforts in all markets virtually with the help of our Director of Education and Sustainability.
We have internal meetings across our global representation, twice a month focusing on leather education and sustainability, in an effort to spread awareness on a higher level via our employees and representatives to their markets and via social media. These efforts will continue and increase.
Our sustainability story has become a focus for the entire company across all divisions as part of our foundation. We will continue to educate and promote the importance of Sustainability within our product line and our collective industries.
We will continue to participate in the SFC panel discussions and seek other opportunities to educate.
