Sustainable Materials
We make a conscious effort to manage our materials selection, seeking materials we are confident are sustainable, such as legally harvested forest products, responsibly produced plantation products, and recycled content:

In keeping with our commitment to continual improvement, we are planning to take the following actions this year: On reducing energy consumption:
Deadwood Revival Design, in partnership with local nonprofit Environmental Center of San Luis Obispo (ECOSLO), is excited to announce our new initiative, Full Circle: A Sustainable Approach to Urban Lumber.
Designed to embrace the full life-cycle of our urban forests--from planting trees to creating wood products made from urban lumber--the Full Circle project is setting out to change the way our community thinks about wood.
In keeping with our commitment to continual improvement, we are planning to take the following actions this year: On how we will manage our primary material or service to a more sustainable direction:
We simply do not use wood that is not from 100% salvaged urban timber. Our sources are committed to the environment as much as we are. We are consistently to educate the consumer on the importance of using salvaged lumber. We also want to reinforce the need to give back to nature in whatever way possible. For us it's planting trees, sequestering carbon, educating and generating awareness.
Deadwood Revival Design will work with local tree care providers to salvage urban logs (which can then be donated to the Full Circle project through ECOSLO). With our new bandsaw mill and vacuum kiln, supported through grant funds, we will continue to mill and dry lumber at an expanded rate -- amplifying our presence as a specialty lumber and heirloom furniture provider, encouraging consumer confidence in local wood products, and creating a blueprint for the greater urban wood movement to continue to grow throughout the country. Along the way, we are excited to educate and inspire our local communities to see urban wood products as a way to tell and be a part of the story of our urban forests.
In keeping with our commitment to continual improvement, we are planning to take the following actions this year: On education and promotion of the sustainability cause:
2021: We currently partner with various organizations to help further the causes we believe in. One of our primary missions is helping restore forest health by helping plant trees in forest and urban areas across the United States. We have partnered with the non-profit American Forests to tackle reforestation needs across the continental U.S.
Additionally, on a local level, we have partnered with the Environmental Center of San Luis Obispo, (ECOSLO) The Full Circle project. Funded through an Urban and Community Forestry grant from CAL FIRE, this project has multiple facets that excite and inspire us on a daily basis. Starting with a robust tree planting initiative spearheaded by ECOSLO and leading to salvaging and processing urban logs (keeping them out of the landfill) by Deadwood Revival Design, this project leads to an increased supply of beautiful urban lumber in the local market and the creation of incredible heirloom furniture with a local connection to our wonderful community.
